The council has reviewed some options that will allow us to develop a program for single family rentals. We will work with property owners, realtors and property management to establish an open communication with city officials to monitor the properties and address problems as they arise. The process will take some time to develop as we identify properties and owners and find out how many there are and what the process will be. Thank you to all who have voiced a concern for this issue as we do all we can to maintain property values in Andover.

The City Council recently discussed single family market value preservation. The City Council is considering requiring rental licensing for single family properties that are being rented out. The City will be holding a public hearing in April to further discuss the matter. Check the City’s website for further details as this program is being developed at the present time. The Council has felt this change in our Code is necessary to ensure that the general safety and well being of our neighborhoods are being preserved.
